What should I wear?
Course Textbooks are a mandatory requirement for all fully in-person AHA classes. When you purchase a spot in one of our courses, the cost of the book is included. Trainers that do not provide their students a course textbook are in breach of AHA guidelines which puts customers at risk of incorrect/ incomplete training. Life First Training Center is an Approved American Heart Association Training Center. We follow all AHA guidelines including course time length and textbook requirements to protect you, our students. Students are required to have the current AHA textbook for the course they are attending. If you believe that you already have the correct book and you are attending a BLS for Healthcare Provider course, you can bring it to the course for verification by an instructor. We may be able to give a partial refund if you do have the correct book. Please be advised that course textbooks are updated every 5 years based on the latest science. If you have further questions on our book requirements, please feel free to call or email us.
I noticed a textbook is included and required in the purchase of my course. Do I really need a book? What if I already have a book from a previous training?
All course cards are good for 2 years.
How long is the CPR/First Aid card good for?
Will there be a test?
Depending on the course you take, there may be a written exam and skills testing required as part of the course. The written exam will be multiple choice. It is unlikely that you would fail any part of testing. However, we do give one chance to re-test if you do not pass.
We accept cash, credit card, Paypal, and checks. Please see our Registration/Payment page for further info.
How do I pay for the class?
If you are taking a scheduled class or private online class/skills testing, you will receive your card within 72 hrs of the course completing. If you need your card quicker, please email us and we may be able to expedite the process for you. If you are attending a private group course, cards are usually distributed within 1-2 weeks of the course (depending on the number of participants). If you need your cards expedited, please email us.

**COVID-19 Update: Our students' health and safety is our top priority. We have recently implemented additional changes in response to this pandemic. Some examples of these changes include social distancing, wearing masks, simulated breaths, and a variety of other things based off of recommendations from the American Heart Association, CDC, and WHO. For further questions or concerns, please email us.
I would like my course book prior to the class so that I can study. Is that possible?
Definitely! Once you have paid for the course, the book is yours. Please contact us for options for obtaining your textbook. All students who do not have their textbook in advance will be given theirs at the class.
My card is going to expire before your next scheduled course and I need a class right away. Can you help me?
Yes, we do offer private 1:1 courses, as well as 1:1 skills testing (for online courses). Please see our course pages for more information or contact us. Also, please note that if your card is an American Heart Association card, it is always good until the end of your renewal month.
What is an ecard?
Effective January 1st 2018, all American Heart Association training centers are required to switch to ecards. Ecards are the equivalent of the paper certification card that has been previously offered and are 100% authentic. Upon successful completion of one of our BLS/CPR/First Aid certification courses, you will receive an ecard invitation in your email. If you have any questions about your ecard, please call or email us. As of January 1st 2018, paper certification cards will no longer be in circulation. Please see next question for further information.
Are all CPR and First Aid providers the same?
Most definitely not! Unfortunately there are currently quite a few unauthorized providers and certification scams out there. It is always safest to use a provider that is truly authorized/affiliated with a legitimate organization such as the American Heart Association. We are one of the few Approved AHA training centers in this area. When you get a certification with us, you know it’s the real deal. Using unauthorized providers can put you at risk of liability if an emergency did occur.
I attended a class and have not received my ecard invitation email. What should I do?
If you have not received the email, please check your spam folder, as the email sometimes gets filtered there. Alternatively, once your ecard has been assigned by LFTC, you can also access it by going to www.heart.org/cpr/mycards. If you cannot access your ecard after completing these steps, please contact us by phone or email. Do I receive exact same certification when doing an online and skills course vs a fully in-person course?
Yes, when you complete an online course, you will recieve an online class certificate that you will give to your instructor at your skills test appointment. Upon completion of your skills testing, you will receive a course completion ecard. This ecard is the same ecard, regardless of whether you completed the training through the hybrid (online course) option or fully in-person option. The ecard does not say that you completed your training through the online option.
I don’t see the class address next to my class, only the city. How can I find the class address?
We offer classes in multiple locations. Once a student has enrolled in a class, they are sent a confirmation email that includes all class details. Please refer to this email and read it completely.
After your ecard has been assigned to your email, you must claim your ecard. Please see your class confirmation email for details regarding claiming your ecard. You may re-access your ecard at any time by logging into the AHA account you created when you first claimed your ecard (you can access your ecard through this link: https://ecards.heart.org/student/myecards)
